Freedom
Vaporisation without representation is against the constitution!

Bad laws were made to be broken.

Humanity
Homo sapiens. What an inventive, invincible species. It's only a few million years since they crawled up out of the mud and learned to walk. Puny, defenceless bipeds. They've survived flood, famine and plague. They've survived cosmic wars and holocausts. And now, here they are, out among the stars, waiting to begin a new life. Ready to outsit eternity. They're indomitable.

Which is the quickest way out of here?
[Each of the women at the fountain point in different directions.]
Yes. Well. That's democracy for you.

I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren't there.

Your species has the most amazing capacity for self-deception, matched only by its ingenuity when trying to destroy itself.

Oh, you know nothing of any human, and that will be your downfall

There's no such thing as an ordinary human.

End of the universe and here you are. Indomitable, that's the word! Indomitable!

Small though it is, the human brain can be quite effective when used properly.

Pacifism
I never carry weapons. If people see you mean them no harm, they never hurt you. Nine times out of ten...

Have you noticed how people's intellectual curiosity begins to decline the moment they start waving guns about?

Oh, marvelous. You're going to kill me. What a finely tuned response to the situation.

Among all the varied wonders of the universe, there's nothing so firmly clamped shut as the military mind.

You let one of them go, but that's nothing new. Every now and then a little victim spared, because she smiled, 'cos he's got freckles, 'cos they begged. And that's how you live with yourself, that's how you slaughter millions. Because once in a while, on a whim, if the wind's blowing in the right direction, you happen to be kind.

Before this war began, I was a father and a grandfather. Now I'm neither, but I'm still a doctor.

Ohh, yes. Harmless is just the word: that's why I like it! Doesn't kill, doesn't wound, doesn't maim.

War is coming. In foreign fields, war of the whole wide world, with all your boys falling down in the mud. Do you think they will thank the man who taught them it was glorious?!

Mankind doesn't need warfare and bloodshed to prove itself.

You need to get yourself a better dictionary. When you do, look up "genocide". You'll find a little picture of me there, and the caption'll read "Over my dead body".

'Cause you don't need to own the universe, just see it. Have the privilege of seeing the whole of time and space, that's ownership enough.

What are you, coward or killer?
Coward, any day.

Call me old fashioned, but if you really wanted peace couldn't you just stop fighting?

Life in general
Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Don't cross your bridges before they're hatched.

First things first, but not necessarily in that order.

To the rational mind, nothing is inexplicable; only unexplained.

Sarcasm's an adjustive stress reaction.

An apple a day keeps the... Ah, never mind.

The illusion is always one of normality.

Optimism: Belief that everything will work out well. Irrational, bordering on insane.

Two wrongs don't make a left turn.

A risk shared is a risk doubled.

A stitch in time... takes up space.

One may tolerate a world of demons for the sake of an angel.

The prettier it looks, the more likely it is to kill you.

…envy is the beginning of all true greatness.

Never use force; you'll just embarrass yourself... unless you're cross, in which case: always use force!

…the bravery of idiots is bravery nonetheless!

It takes all sorts to make a galaxy.

There are no measurements in infinity.

…the worse the situation the worse your jokes get.

Circular logic will only make you dizzy.

America doesn't have a monopoly on bad taste.

Destiny? Isn't that just a fancy name for blind chance?

…the bear will not pursue us; such things happen only in the theatre.

If you want a job done properly, get a girl to do it.

Tricky things, mammoths

"Mastery of English?" Well, I'd reverse the roles, personally: it's English that has mastered me.

Power
Ten million years of absolute power. That's what it takes to be really corrupt.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

We shall become all-
-powerful! Crush the lesser races! Conquer the galaxy! UNIMAGINABLE POWER! UNLIMITED RICE PUDDING! Etcetera! Etcetera!

Cleverness
You're a classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain.

How do ye know so much?
I read a lot.

Well, to be fair I had a couple of gadgets he probably didn't, such as a teaspoon and an open mind.

Good looks are no substitute for a sound character.

Living
Sleep is for tortoises!

Sounds healthy, but exceedingly dull.

There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes.

If you call that being nearly killed, you haven't lived yet.

You know how it is; you put things off for a day and next thing you know, it's a hundred years later.

Love has never been noted for its rationality.

For some people, small, beautiful events are what life is all about.

Anybody remotely interesting is mad in some way.

The thing is…time travel is like visiting Paris. You can't just read the guidebook; you've got to throw yourself in. Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, get charged double and end up kissing complete strangers.

Everybody knows that everybody dies. But not every day. Not today. Some days are special. Some days are so, so blessed. Some days, nobody dies at all. Now and then, Every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and the Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

When you're a kid, they tell you it's all "grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that's it." But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better.

Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty. It's not the time that matters, it's the person.

A longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything you love turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you'll end up alone.

There is no indignity in being afraid to die, but there is a terrible shame in being afraid to live.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

One must always accept the unexpected.

If I knew everything that was about to happen, where would the fun be?

Rest is for the weary; sleep is for the dead.

Never be certain of anything; it's a sign of weakness

That's the trouble with computers, always think in black and white. No aquamarines, no blues, no imagination.

Death
The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship... Everything has its time. And everything ends.

Everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies.

It is never easy to die.
So, pretty much all of my morals, philosophies and ethics have come from Doctor Who :)

All of these are quotes from Doctor Who, both classic episodes and new series, so obviously I don't own anything.

This... This is my favorite thing ever... It's beautiful and poetic. I love it, enough said.
